A few years after graduating from the University of Louisville Grant DeLaney started the current independent insurance agency with the guidance of his father John DeLaney's knowledge, insight and connections, but also had to earn his way in the business. One at a time he has built up a following of local individuals, families, and businesses owners who turn to him for advice and expertise regarding their specific insurance needs. Grant believes in guiding each client to a plan that will not only fit their budget, but offer the protection they will need when problems arise. After graduating from the University of Louisville in 1970, John DeLaney started in the insurance business with Sun Life of Canada in February 1971. January 1, 1973 John transitioned to a long, successful career with State Farm Insurance, supporting a family along the way, including 5 children all of whom went to local private schools, as their mothers would not have it any other way. Many individuals, families and small business owners around Louisville looked to John as a trusted insurance advisor for decades. The stories his kids have heard from current and former clients make him honestly sound like an indispensable and long-time member of their families, thanks to his honestly, his advice, and his diligence in honoring what is right on behalf of his clients. Having finally ended that captive relationship with State Farm in 2014, he joined his son Grant DeLaney at DeLaney Insurance as an independent agent.
A key member of John DeLaney's insurance team since 2004, and with DeLaney Insurance since 2013, Christy Tran is a knowledgeable, friendly and experienced insurance agent. A favorite agent for sales and service to many of our clients since those days when she started in the business over 12 years ago. She always takes the time to get the clients what they need, and in most cases she is capable of doing that in a flash. Efficient, conscientious and kind, Christy is truly hard to beat. Our newest team member, Leah leads our effort online. Dean DeLaney started DeLaney's Fine Furniture in 1946 after a career in the life insurance business where he was a top producer, the consummate salesman. DeLaney Furniture grew to become the largest furniture retailer in the region during the mid-1950s through the late 1960s catering to the high end of the furniture market. He grew based on offering the best furniture products and the best deals on high end furniture to be found in those days. He had top-quality hand-made, exclusive and unique products not available anywhere else at the time. The DeLaney Insurance original logo design was taken from his old logo dating back to the 1950s
